Southeast Asia faces several challenges in climate governance – from financial and capacity to institutional and policy. This event will analyse climate change-related governance architectures and cover issues of justice and equity in the context of regional and global climate governance.

Following the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the panel seeks to explore the legacies and reverberation of "vaccine diplomacy" efforts, vaccine inequities throughout the region, regional vaccine development attempts, and how they have altered regional dynamics in the Indo-Pacific today.

Keeping in mind the increasing visibility of the Quad and growing questions of Japan joining AUKUS, the quality and influence of Australia and Japan's relationship continues to gain traction in the Indo-Pacific. This panel, hosted by the Indo-Pacific Circle, seeks to assess the relationship and its defense ties, and map out how it could shape the region and neighbouring countries in the years to come. This panel also draws upon perspectives from India and the USA on wider regional implications.

This panel sought to trace the elements of US-India convergence in the Indo-Pacific, the role of other key states in the region and the importance of the Quad in maintaining the relationship as well as a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific.

This panel seeks to scope out the current play of the “green energy shift” in the region, its trajectory and feasibility, and what the geopolitical, environmental, and economic implications are for such a transition.

This panel was brought together to discuss methods of creating a more resilient Indo-Pacific to both prevent and protect against humanitarian crises and economic collapse in the wake of natural hazards.
